These cards could still be used in Wild formats, but would no longer be available for Standard play. To help keep the meta fresh and allow players to create and encounter new strategies in the Standard format, six cards were moved to the Hall of Fame. To keep Hearthstone exciting and accessible as more cards come into the game, the Hearthstone team took a look at certain cards in the Classic set that many considered to be “auto-includes” for many decks. With these sets leaving the format, we said goodbye to some of their most popular cards. The 2017 Hearthstone Winter Championship marked the last time we experienced Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament and League of Explorers in a Standard competition. The Hall of Fame had yet to be announced, and players were taking full advantage of the Year of the Kraken’s expansions: Whispers of the Old Gods, One Night in Karazhan and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. Available through March 11, 2018. Today we are going to look at how Hearthstone decks have changed from the Year of the Mammoth’s announcement to today. We also said farewell to iconic cards and mechanics that forever changed the game. Quests, Death Knight Hero Cards, and Dungeon Runs brought new ways to play. New cards and deck archetypes were introduced that allowed players to find creative ways to enjoy the game. Both versions see very little play, likely do to Face Hunter being the much better option for the class.The Year of the Mammoth brought some exciting and impactful changes for players. Unfortunately, the quest version of Hunter right now is not particularly popular. The meta is always evolving in the early stages of an expansion release, so consider waiting before making any decks if you’re on a budget!īe sure to check out our roundup of the Best decks in the United in Stormwind expansion post! Questline Hunter Decks The power level of decks is hard to predict, and a list might be powerful one day and weak the next. Keep in mind that you should be very careful about crafting any new cards or decks when a new Hearthstone expansion is released. You will then be able to manage enemy minions with your hero power, and towards the late game, you should be able to use things like Aimed Shot and your hero power to burst down the enemy! Ultimately, this deck will likely be more of a control list because your spells will be very useful for eliminating minions on the board in the early game. If you can complete parts of the questline, it will make it so you can target minions on the board with your hero power, reduce the cost of your hero power to 0, and then receive Tavish, Master Marksman who will make it so for the rest of your game the spells you cast will refresh your hero power! You can obviously see that there’s some combos to be made with this style of deck! If you can build a deck lists that revolves around spells, you can boost the usability of your hero power significantly with the Defend the Dwarven District quest. The new quest that Hunter has received in the Hearthstone United in Stormwind expansion is looking pretty powerful.
